Balinese Dances are vivid and stylized
performances. Most Balinese dances are
dramatizations of stories and legends
from the Hindu "Ramayana" and "Mahabaratha"
or Balinese historical events. Balinese
culture is almost ready made for kids,
especially the traditional dances with
their colorful costumes and lively music.
Dance performances usually happened
in the evenings and the best known is
probably Kecak as it's an unusual one
because it doesn't have a gamelan accompaniment.
But Legong, highly stylized and very
graceful is the one of connoisseur of
Balinese dance. You can even have a
look to all the other dances style in
Balinese tradition like Barong Dance,
Topeng, Ramayana, Janger, etc…
Another Balinese attraction is Wayang
Kulit performances, a shadow
puppet play, full of symbolism and myth.
